Dates are calculated locally with your browser's built-in time-zone data. Nothing you enter is uploaded.

Unix epochUnix time counts elapsed seconds from 1970-01-01 00:00:00 UTC. Negative timestamps represent dates before the epoch.
Seconds or millisecondsUse explicit units when precision matters. Auto-detect treats values with an absolute magnitude of 100 billion or more as milliseconds.
Browser-local privacyYour timestamps and dates stay on your device. Only non-content usage metadata may be recorded.

Unix seconds

Most Unix timestamps are integer seconds since the UTC epoch. Fractional seconds are also accepted and preserved to millisecond precision.

Milliseconds

JavaScript and many APIs use milliseconds since the Unix epoch. The converter shows both seconds and milliseconds for every valid date.

Local time vs UTC

When converting a calendar date, choose whether the entered wall-clock value represents your browser's local timezone or UTC.
