This policy explains the main categories of information ConvertThings processes when you use the website. It should be read together with the privacy choices available on the site.
Files and tool processing
Some tools work entirely in your browser and do not need to upload the content being processed to ConvertThings. Other tools require server-side processing. For server-side file tools, ConvertThings receives the files necessary to perform the operation, creates the requested output and keeps temporary files only for the configured retention period. Current default retention is up to 1 hour for guests and up to 24 hours for registered users, although the site operator can configure these periods within the limits supported by ConvertThings.
Technical records associated with tool use may include file names, file sizes, image dimensions where relevant, processing status, processing time, tool identity and timestamps. Server-side upload records can also contain the IP address associated with an upload. These records support operation, security, troubleshooting and aggregate service analytics.
Accounts and sessions
If you create an account, ConvertThings processes the account information needed to authenticate you and provide account features. Essential session cookies and security mechanisms are used for sign-in, CSRF protection and core site operation.
Optional analytics
ConvertThings can be configured to use Google Analytics. The integration is disabled unless the site operator enables it. Where ConvertThings requires a privacy choice before loading optional analytics, the analytics tag is not loaded until analytics has been allowed. Google may process information according to its own terms and privacy documentation when its service is enabled.
Advertising and consent
ConvertThings has launch-ready Google AdSense integration, but live ad serving is disabled until the site is approved and the required consent setup is completed. For traffic where Google requires it, personalized advertising must use a Google-certified consent management platform integrated with the applicable IAB Transparency and Consent Framework requirements. ConvertThings's own Privacy choices page is a site preference control and is not represented as a replacement for that certified platform.
When advertising is eventually enabled, Google and participating advertising providers may use cookies, local storage, device information and other data for ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention and, where valid consent permits, personalization. The exact providers and choices shown to visitors will depend on the consent platform and advertising configuration active at that time.
PayPal support contributions
ConvertThings includes an optional one-time support contribution flow using PayPal. PayPal integration is currently launch-ready but has not yet been externally transaction-tested. If enabled later, payment details are handled by PayPal. ConvertThings stores only the transaction information needed for payment integrity and reconciliation, such as PayPal order/capture references, amount, currency, status and timestamps. ConvertThings does not intentionally store PayPal payer names, payer email addresses, postal addresses, access tokens or raw PayPal API responses in the donations table.
Cookies and privacy choices
Essential cookies are required for secure sessions and core operation. Optional ConvertThings analytics and advertising preferences can be reviewed on the Privacy choices page. Provider-specific consent controls may also be shown when required. You can revisit the available privacy controls from the site footer.
Retention and security
Temporary uploaded and processed files are removed by ConvertThings retention cleanup according to the configured guest or registered-user retention period. Operational database records may be retained longer where needed for accounts, security, troubleshooting, transaction integrity or legitimate service administration. ConvertThings uses technical safeguards such as CSRF protection, session controls and restricted administrative routes, but no internet service can promise absolute security.
Third-party services
When enabled, ConvertThings may interact with services including PayPal, Google Analytics and Google AdSense. Those providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies. ConvertThings does not control the independent processing performed by those providers.
